The Force is with Xbox Live’s Games with Gold in May – SlashGear

Microsoft has announced Xbox Live‘s Games with Gold for the month of May, and Star Wars fans will want to take note. May’s selection of free games includes not one but two Star Wars titles, likely as a way to celebrate Star Wars day on May 4th. If you missed out on these Star Wars games the first time around, this is a good chance to pick them up.

Strangely, the Star Wars titles don’t come from Xbox One, but rather Xbox 360. Of course, those playing on Xbox One can still enjoy these games, but if you looked at the headline and thought “Battlefront,” we’re sorry to disappoint you. Instead, those paying for Xbox Live Gold will be treated to free copies of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II and LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga.

The Force Unleashed and its sequel gained quite a few fans back in the heyday of Xbox 360. Though the first game seems to be considered the better title, The Force Unleashed II is still worth checking out here. On the other hand, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga is a great game from start to finish, though given the popularity of the LEGO series, many Xbox Live Gold subscribers have likely already played it by now.

On the Xbox One side of things, subscribers can look forward to free copies of Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams and Lara Croft: The Temple of Osiris. Though those are both good games in their own right, we have a feeling most of the attention will be granted to the two Star Wars titles that are up for grabs.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is the only title that will be available for the entire month. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II will be available from May 1 to May 15, while LEGO Star Wars and Lara Croft: The Temple of Osiris will become available on May 16. What do you think of May’s selection of Games with Gold titles? Head down to the comments section and let us know!
